Blurb:

At age twenty, Molly Shakespeare knows a lot.

She knows Descartes and Kant.

She knows academia and Oxford.

She knows that the people who love you leave you.

She knows how to be alone.

But when Molly leaves England's grey skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn — she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.

When a chance encounter with notorious star quarterback, Romeo Prince, leaves her unable to think of anything but his chocolate-brown eyes, dirty-blond hair and perfect physique, Molly soon realises that her quiet, solitary life is about to dramatically change forever...

My Review:

Ok I have to admit that I was worried when I started this story. I felt the connection was too rushed between the main characters. I have never been a fan of "love at first sight" I like a slow build up. I was a little perplexed by Rome's instant and intense interested in Molly and then there was the name thing. Romeo Prince? Molly Juliet Shakespeare??? It was cute... a little too cute maybe.  However, it kinda grew on me especially after we get the explanation of why they both had these outrageous monikers.

The story started to pick up for me a few chapters in. I absolutely fell in love with our brainy Molly and her unique group of friends. A smart, awkward and self depreciating Brit with a charming accent and no knowledge of American football attending the University of Alabama. The mecca of SEC football. *face palm*. How can you be a Bama student and not know anything about college football???  I am a football girl... rabid football fan girl and my college team of choice... you got it ALABAMA!!! Roll Tide! So of course I was instantly smitten with our hero, the handsome, ill-tempered, bad mannered, cocky superstar quarterback for the Crimson Tide. I found it tragic that his parents didn't support him. Isn't it ever father's dream to have his son looking to be the #1 NFL Draft Pick? Seriously like every dad in America's dream... right?... RIGHT? Apparently our poor Rome got stuck with the one piss poor father in the entire country who wants nothing to do with football but wants his son to marry the queen bitch of UA and take over his oil business one day.

Rome and Molly seem like an unlikely pair from the very beginning... but she becomes his lucky charm with one sweet kiss and they seem to share a deep need for each other. Neither has ever been able to count on someone else. Rome has been nothing but a disappointment and a pawn his entire life and Molly has lost everyone she ever cared about and is utterly alone in the world.  Their love is hard fought. His family is against them. The student body doesn't understand them. AND they are named after the character of a notoriously tragic play.

Can they find a way to hold on when the odds are stacked against them? Is their love big enough to stand up to his powerful family?? Can Molly keep her heart and feet planted when all she has ever done is run???

If you are that eclectic mixer of football, romance, and Shakespeare fan you are going to LOVE this book. It is very well written... it will inspire a gamut of emotion... you will laugh, you will get angry, you will cry and you will swoon.

Favorite Quotes:

"Hey Mol."
"Hey You."
"You gonna give up that lucky sweet kiss?"
"If that's what you want"

"Molly, a home is not a place. It's not a country or a town or a building or possession. Home is with the other half of your soul, the person who shares in your grief and helps you carry the burden of loss. Home is with the person who throughout it all never gives up on you and brings you eternal happiness. That, Molly dear, is your home sweet home..."

"For the first time in my life, I was running to something, not away from it."

"It's Python."

Except:

Romeo’s nostrils flared and he stepped closer. “You want to know all about my sexual past,
all the sordid details? Fine! I’ve fucked a lot of girls, in many different ways, in many
different places. They’d throw themselves my way and I’d give them what they wanted, and
they’d fuckin’ love it.”

Before I knew what’d happened, I’d struck his face with my hand, the loud slap amplified by
the tinny acoustics in the boxy room.

Blood scolded my veins, my chest pounded, and Rome turned a dark shade of purple.

“Did that feel good? Have you got it outta your system now?” he bit out, rubbing his hand along his cheek.

Tears swelled in my eyes. I didn’t mean to hit him, but no one had ever evoked such a reaction in me before. I was physically shaking with the sudden rush of adrenalin.

Romeo leaned against the opposite wall, lowering his head. “They fucked Bullet. They only ever fucked Bullet!”

My breath paused with hurt. “Nice, Rome. Real nice. Is that what you’ll do to me? Let me
fuck the great Bullet Prince, give me what I want, and move on?”

He stormed forward, forcing me back so my spine was flush against the cold steel shelves, his
arms bracing me in a cage on either side. “Not at all, Shakespeare, but hear this. I’m gonna fuck you, but I’m also gonna make love to you too. I’m gonna own every goddamn piece of your soul, and I’m never gonna let you go. You’re gonna scream my name over and over until it’s permanently lodged in your fuckin’ throat. You’re not gonna be just a fuck to me, Mol—you’re gonna be my fuckin’ salvation!”
