REVIEW: "Struck From the Record" by K.A. Linde

Title: Struck from the Record
Author: K.A. Linde
Release: June 07, 2016

Synopsis

Clay Maxwell is a smart, quick witted, sex-driven, manwhore with the good looks to match. Plenty of women have shared his bed, but only one has ever been constant, Andrea.

Their rules were simple. When they’re together, it’s just the two of them. When they’re apart, anything is fair game. And it worked. For ten years.

But one of them has changed the game…

Clay must decide if his player ways are worth losing the one girl who has always been there.

My Review
5 Stars *****

Clay Maxwell is a sexy scoundrel. Unapologetic in the way he lives his life. A life of  excess. Excessive partying, drinking and woman. He likes it that way. He has it all: the money, the fun, and the beautiful woman at his side who enjoys it all just like he does. Is he a lucky SOB or what? He is the master of the game that is until the rules change…

What happens when you wake up in a hospital bed and everything has changed? You can no longer be the eternal Frat Boy but you don’t know how to be anything else. Do you say screw it and walk away from the one person who has always been a constant in your life? The one person who knows you the best and loves you in spite of it. Or do you man the hell up and fight to keep her? The rules may have changed but he is still a Maxwell and Maxwells don’t know how to lose. Time to battle.

I loved seeing the evolution of Clay in this book. We knew he was Brady’s sexy, cunning and scandalous younger brother… The black sheep of the Maxwell dynasty… but in this installment Linde really peels back the layers so we get much clearer picture of the man and what makes him tick. A closer look at the insecurities and ambition that drives him. We also get a glimpse of the surprisingly fierce loyalty he has not only to Andrea but to his family. Watch out Brady I think your baby brother may be giving you a run for your money in the favorites department. ;)

One word.
Stay.

It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.

That was seventeen years ago.

I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.

Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.

This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

** This is a STANDALONE **
