Book Summary

He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.

On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.

Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.

Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.

But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?

Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

My Review:

Rating: 4 Stars

Micah and Maddie meet one night at a party where she and her friend are celebrating graduating film school and he and his crew are celebrating a indie movie wrap. They have a brief yet memorable encounter and then go on with life. Micah signs with a bigtime agent and becomes the next big Hollywood heartthrob and Maddie persues her dreams of becoming a director where she is pigeon holed and blacklisted by a venedictive hotshot director, so she settles into the comfortable life as a top sought camera assistant.

Micah is a playboy. Uber famous. Uber hot. He beds costars, models, random fans, anyone who catches his fancy. He doesn't do commitment and he doesn't have any regrets about how he lives his life. It's not like his fast paced, on location for months, tabloid filled life really constitutes a healthy enviroment for relationships anyway. He lives his life by the one-night stand rule and thats that. Maddie is the opposite of a one-night stand girl. She is his "Maddie from the party". The girl who responded to him before he was Hollywood Micah. She is beautiful and smart and talented. When she ends up working on Micah's current movie it's kind of a battle of wills. They are both drawn to each other and they both try to fight it, but the memory of that first interlude and the painful attraction they share is throwing them both off their game. Maybe they should just get it out of their system right???

Okay so this was a sweet little story about fighting falling in love, and chasing your dreams, and not letting other people dictate your life. It a sexy read with a drop dead gorgeous actor and a sexy but doesn't know she's sexy female MC. There aren't any real twists or turns and you pretty much know the direction the story is going from page one, but it is still a fun read. A hot read. It kept my attention and I enjoyed the ride. However, I think the story would have benefited from an epilogue. Something to show a little more closure for these characters... a glimpse into their future.

About the Author

Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
