This is my
first Diane Albert and Brazen read. I
will definitely be reading more from them.
This was so stinking cute, sweet, and HAWT. It was absolutely one of my favorites of the
year. It’s a story of a sweet southern
belle and a vet who meet in an airport and have one hell of a plane ride. I fell in love with both of them in the very
first chapter. If you want a quick
paced, funny, hot and steamy read you HAVE to read this one.
Kayla
Moriarty is an actuary (yep I Googled that) who is flying home to North
Carolina for her sister’s wedding. She
knows all the statistics about a plane possibly crashing to a fatal and fiery
end so she is so terribly afraid of flying. She has been lying to her family
for months about a fake boyfriend so they’d get off her ass about her love life
b/c they’re an old southern traditional family who thinks a woman should be
married by a certain age or she’s headed for spinsterhood.
Cooper
Shillings is a former marine who, instead of taking a job at his father’s firm,
is flying to NC to begin a new job in private security that will take him
overseas. He is also dealing with guilt over something that happened while he
was still with the Marines. He sees Kayla and is very interested but before he
can even talk to her he’s stabbed by a candy cane wielding child. After seeing
the mishap Kayla offers him help and a seat.
Since she
knows all the statistics she’s terrified of flying so when she tells Cooper how
afraid she is, he offers to keep her distracted for the whole flight. She takes him up on his offer of distraction
(and damn he has some sexy ass ways of distracting someone). After all the wonderful
distractions and conversations he learns of her fake boyfriend who cannot make
it to the wedding where he was supposed to meet her family. He realizes how intrigued he is with her and
before he can stop himself he offers himself up to portray her fake boyfriend
for the wedding festivities.
So, what
happens when the fake relationship starts to feel very real and feelings and
emotions end up surfacing for both of them? Cooper doesn’t want to get in a
relationship since he’s heading overseas which will cause more stress for Kayla
and she doesn’t think you have to be in a relationship to be happy.
What will
happen when the wedding is over and it’s time for Cooper to go overseas? Will
the fake love emerge to become a real love? A real relationship? True love?
