COVER REVEAL & GIVEAWAY: "Beneath this Mask" by Meghan March

We are excited to share with you the cover for Meghan March's newest book BENEATH THIS MASK, scheduled for release on September 29th!
Make sure to add it to your TBR list and enter the giveaway below! Good luck!!!

beneath this mask

SynopsisMy name is Charlotte Agoston, and I’m a runner. Not the ‘let’s go for a jog and slap a 26.2 sticker on your bumper’ kind of runner; I’m the kind of runner who takes off when her father is staring down the barrel of a guilty verdict that carries a 175-year sentence for perpetrating the largest fraud in the history of the world. That’s right. Bernie Madoff was an amateur compared to Alistair Agoston.

Faced with living under a cloud of suspicion and constant questioning by the FBI, I ran. I’m making a new life in New Orleans as Charlie Stone. I traded my future in New York high finance for tattoos, booze, a few friends who don’t ask questions, and one giant mutt named Huckleberry Finn. Everything is simple and uncomplicated until Simon Duchesne—former hotshot Navy fighter pilot, NOLA’s favorite son, city councilman, and rumored congressional hopeful—walks into my life.

The flashing cameras he attracts threaten to expose everything I’m hiding, but I can’t seem to stay away. Why are the most dangerous ideas always the most seductive?

In trying to get lost, I found myself. And then I found Simon. He loves me, and he doesn’t even know my real name. I’m going to break his heart, but mine will shatter right along with it. This is our story.

Will we be strong enough to face the consequences of revealing what’s beneath this mask?

Excerpt“What are you doing here?” I asked. My tone was less than welcoming. If he let me run him off, then I’d be saved from the temptation that was Simon Duchesne.

“You called me.”

“I shouldn’t have.”

“I’m glad you did.” He shifted, as though annoyed by the bars between us. Sorry, Simon, I thought, even without the bars, there will always be impenetrable walls.

A thought struck me. “Are you drunk?”

“No,” Simon replied with a laugh. “Are you?”

“A little.” At least I could be honest about that.

A provocative smile spread over his face, and I caught a flash of dimples. Damn. Come on world, throw me a bone.

“Are you going to ask me in?” He punctuated the question with a raised eyebrow.

“I shouldn’t.” To myself I added, I really, really shouldn’t.

“You don’t look like the kind of girl who doesn’t do things just because she thinks she shouldn’t.”

I looked down at the uneven cobblestones beneath my feet. “Don’t pretend like you know me.”

“I want to.”

“Why?” It was a question I desperately wanted answered. I was still trying to sort out all of the reasons for my attraction to him. Maybe he could articulate whatever this crazy thing was between us, and solve the mystery for me.

He reached through the bars and tucked a flyaway strand of hair behind my ear.

“Honestly, I have no idea. You’re just … there’s something about you.”

Dammit. I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, giving myself a moment to think. Ultimately, it was his honesty that decided it. We were equally off balance here. I was probably going to regret this, but … what the hell. I twisted the lock and opened the gate. For some reason, it didn’t feel wrong. I thought of Yve’s advice. One night. Get him out of my system. I never had to see him again. I could steal this night and emerge unscathed.

Title: On the Record (Record Series #2)
Author: K.A. Linde
Release: August 26, 2014
 Amazon Link:  http://amzn.to/1pzOXrd

Book Synopsis:

For political reporter Liz Dougherty, election day—a day of looking toward the future and saying goodbye to the past—seems like a fitting time to start a new relationship. But feelings for her former flame still linger...
The sexy second book in bestselling author K.A. Linde’s Record series decides whether it’s better to pick up the pieces and move on...or to pick up right where you left off.

My Review:
5 Star *****

On the Record. This book! Okay my review is going to be short and sweet simply because OtR was a great, angsty, emotional read and I don’t want to give away too much of the story because I want every single reader to go through everything I did and to experience it without any preconceptions…

***Spoiler Alert. If you have not read Off the Record do not proceed***

Completely deflated. That is how we all felt at the end of Off the Record. We had gone through this intense, emotional love affair with Brady and Liz to just watch her walk away at the very end. Oh. My. God. My heart! Just as Brady was coming to terms with the fact that Liz was so much more than a fling and that he was indeed in love with her … she simply walks out of the door and out of his life. How could she????

It was simple. She loved him enough not to make him choose. She knew that the campaign would win. His ambition. His purpose in life. She didn’t stand a chance… and she loved him enough not to force him to be the bad guy. He had never lied to her. He had never made her any promises. It was her own stupid heart that couldn’t play by the rules. So she did what she thought was best for them both. She had faith in Brady the Politian. She wanted to see him succeed and she did her part for the man she loved and the candidate she believed in. Now she had to live with the consequences. The pain.

That’s what On the Record is… a book about dealing with the pain of losing THE LOVE. Picking up the pieces and moving forward. Liz has no other choice. So she moves on at school, works hard at the paper, goes out with her friends, and keeps putting one foot in front of the other. She does a really good job. She knows in her heart of hearts she did the right thing… but she MISSES him. The absence of Brady Maxwell is almost a character in this story. You feel it with Liz deep down in your bones. It walks with you. It speaks to you. It is agony. AGONY!!!

Yes this story will have you ranting. Yes this story will have you sobbing. Yes this story will have you confused as to what you want Liz to do… but in the end you knew all along what she needed. What you needed. K.A. Linde is an evil little genius when it comes to making you want what you thought you didn’t and convincing you it’s the right thing only to trick you back to where you started and making you mad at your damn self for ever changing your mind in the first place. Gah I was a wreck!!! So you will be too. You just have to be brave enough to take the book back out of the freezer and power through to the end. I highly recommend this book. It has surpassed Avoiding Commitment as my favorite KA Linde book.

PS: Clay Maxwell ß--- charming, handsome, devious villain. *swoon*

Chapter One Exclusive Excerpt:

“Well, yeah, he’s not smart enough for me. That’s obvious,” Victoria said.

Liz rolled her eyes.

“But I think I wouldn’t mind a piece of a tall, fit runner for a change,” Victoria said, taking a step forward.

“Victoria!” Liz snapped, blocking her path. “Cut it out.”

“Oh, come on, Liz. Have some fun.”

“Not that kind of fun.” The last thing she wanted was for Victoria to embarrass her in front of all of her colleagues. And, well, even if she wasn’t sure she was ready to move past what had happened with Brady, that certainly didn’t mean she wanted Victoria to make a pass at Hayden.

“Why not? Just go home with him. Have a good fuck and move on from the summer. The summer is over. You can’t change anything that happened, but you don’t have to let it make your decisions for you.”

“I’m not,” Liz said, but there was no conviction in her voice. How could she ever explain? Letting Brady go felt like a bigger loss than just walking out of the primary party. But she had walked out. She had made her own decision, and it didn’t sit well with her that Victoria implied that she was still allowing Brady to control her.

Tristan, one of her freshman helpers at the college paper, came running into the room and broke through her thoughts. He craned his neck around, and Liz waved her hand in the air to signal him. He darted over and stood before her in perfectly pressed khaki pants, a navy polo, and a black jacket. The only thing giving away that he had been in a rush was the wave at the crest of his typically flawless hair, and the bead of sweat forming at his temple.

“Dougherty,” Tristan said to Liz in greeting. She had been able to break him of the formal Miss that had gone before that for the first month or more of his working for her. But now, even when they were just out with friends, she couldn’t break him of the habit of addressing her simply by her last name.

“What did you find?” Liz asked.

“I have the results for the precincts you requested.”

Liz looked over Tristan’s shoulder to find Hayden only a few feet away from her. “Hayden!” she called. Their eyes locked and he smiled that heart-stopping smile before hurrying over to stand just a bit closer.

“Does he have the results?” he asked Liz. He was all business too. It was why they worked well together. It was why they had always worked well together. And it was one of the reasons she had liked him the past two years. She would have given anything for Hayden to make a move before Brady. Before Brady. It was like a constant mantra. She forced those thoughts out of her mind and focused on the business at hand.

Tristan nodded, pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket, and handed it to his bosses.

Liz scanned the list, her stomach somersaulting. She couldn’t believe what she saw. “All but one precinct,” she whispered.

Hayden flashed her a smile. “Just like you predicted.”

“Not Meriweather precinct, because they always run opposite the Maxwells,” she murmured.

“You said that too,” Hayden encouraged.

It wasn’t the entire fourth district by a long shot, but the few precincts that they had been watching in Chapel Hill had swung for Brady. Maybe that would swing the whole district, if the boost in student voting on campus was any indication. She would find out soon enough.

“This is great, Tristan,” Liz said. She was close to shaking, she was so emotional and conflicted. She wanted Brady to win. She didn’t want it to all be for naught. It just felt like this day had taken

EXCERPT:

As I approach his house, I see his Jeep parked in the drive, the hood up, and a tight, jean-clad ass bent over the side.

Okay, he’s definitely home.

I tentatively wander around the other side of the Jeep and lean against the side, looking at the engine. He hasn’t noticed that I’m here yet, and I’m not even sure how he’ll react to seeing me here, but I can’t seem to stay away. His dark head is bent low, his arms buried in the engine, tinkering with something. His arms are bare as he’s pulled off his T-shirt, which is draped over the windshield. A thin sheen of sweat covers his shoulders and back, and his entire sleeve tattoo, which runs from just above his wrist all the way up to the top of his right shoulder, is on full display, making my girlie parts all tingle and come to life.

Holy Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

He’s so fucking toned it’s crazy. Jeez, his muscles bunch and stretch as he pulls on the wrench in his hand.

“Come on, you motherfucker,” he mutters. I have to bite my lips to keep from laughing out loud.

“So, what seems to be the problem?” I finally ask when he doesn’t notice me, keeping my eyes trained on the engine when his head whips up to look at me. I slowly lift my eyes to his and grin.

“I didn’t hear your car,” he murmurs with a smile.

“I walked.” I shrug and look back down into the bowels of his Jeep. “What’s wrong with your car?”

“You walked from your house?” he asks incredulously.

“No.” I shake my head and chuckle. “From Sips. I had coffee with Cara this morning.”

He stands up straight and leans his palms on the side of the Jeep, watching me. My eyes immediately fall to one drop of sweat slowly making its way down his hard chest.

“You had coffee with Cara?” He smiles.

"Yeah.” I shrug shyly. “I’m sorry to just stop by like this. I was out for a walk and just sort of found myself here.” I feel my cheeks heat and I back away, but he shakes his head and smiles widely.

“I’m glad you came by.” He raises his brows as I continue to stare.

I shake my head and raise my eyes to his, then bust out laughing.

“Why are you laughing?” he asks with a wide grin.

“Because I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without a shirt. I didn’t realize the tats went all the way up your arm. Who would have thought that under it all you’re just a bad boy?”

His eyes flash with heat as he narrows them on my face, watching me. He pulls a rag out of his back pocket and begins wiping off his hands, but his gray eyes stay on mine. Did I offend him?

“I’m not such a bad boy. Looks can be deceiving, Lauren.” He smirks as he lowers the hood on his Jeep. “But from the look of you right now, you don’t seem to mind the tats.”

“I don’t mind.” I shrug nonchalantly and try to ignore the way my heart picks up speed as he slowly saunters around the hood of the vehicle.

“Do you have any tats?”

“Yeah.”

His eyes widen in surprise and then rake over me from head to toe.

“Where?”

I grin, enjoying this flirtatious banter. “Here and there.”

“I have ways of making people talk, you know.”

“Bright lights and rubber hoses?” I ask with a raised brow.

He tosses his head back and laughs, an all-out belly laugh. “I’m not a cop,” he smirks.

“You might get to see them. Someday.”

He closes the gap between us and kisses me gently on the forehead, not touching me anywhere else.

“I hope someday comes sooner rather than later,” he whispers before pulling back and smiling softly down at me. “I would hug you, but I’m dirty.”

I wave him off, as if it’s no biggie, although I don’t mind so much that he’s a bit dirty and sweaty. “What were you doing?” I gesture to the car.

“Changing the oil.”

“There are places you can go,” I inform him with a perfectly straight face, “where you pull into this big garage, and then you leave your car and go into this small room with five-year-old magazines and stale coffee, and the people there will change your oil for you.”

“Or, smart-ass, I can do it myself in my own driveway.”

“Suit yourself.” I shrug.

“Did you sleep okay on the couch?” he asks, changing the subject.

“Yeah, actually, I did. But I could always sleep just about anywhere.”

“Hence the chaise in your office.” He chuckles.

I nod and stuff my hands in my pockets. “I’m sorry that I interrupted your morning. I was just out for a walk and found myself here.”

“I’m glad you did.” He scratches his stomach, and my eyes follow the movement. His abs are just delicious. For being so dark haired, he has little hair on his chest and stomach, but a light trail of hair falls from his navel and disappears into his jeans. He’s also sporting a V in the muscles on his hips that the heroes in my novels would covet.

“Lo?” he asks with a wide grin.

“Yeah?” I drag my eyes up to his again.

“I lost you for a second.”

I blink rapidly and feel heat fill my cheeks. Jesus, get a grip! You’ve seen hot men before, Lauren. “Sorry, my mind wandered.”

Excerpt

“All right, everyone.” Lindsay stands up and pushes back her chair slightly. She wobbles a bit on her heels and rests her hand on my shoulder to steady herself. “Apparently, tonight is as good as any night to let you all in on a little secret.” She wipes the palms of her hands down the sides of her black dress.

“So, for a little over a year now, Matt and I have been seeing each other.” There are a few chuckles, but mostly everyone sits silently listening to Lindsay. “We’ve kept it quiet for a while simply because it’s what worked for us.” She shrugs. “It started off casual and just turned into more, and we didn’t really make a big deal out of it.” She looks down at me and smiles the most beautiful, genuine smile I’ve ever seen. Her blue eyes sparkle in the lights from the crystal chandelier and her long, blonde hair hangs in waves. She looks almost angelic in the dimly lit room. “So, cat’s out of the bag.” She laughs and raises her glass. I stand up and raise my glass next to hers. “To Matt and me,” she says with a smile on her beautiful face. I lean in and press a long kiss to her lips while everyone hoots and hollers around us.

“I love you, sweet girl,” I say between kisses.

CANE

If I close my eyes, maybe she’ll disappear.

“That was amazing. So good, Cane.”

Maybe not.

The woman nestled against me, her hand draping across my body. She stroked my skin, the intimacy of the action curling my stomach.

I switched on the bedside lamp, letting my eyes adjust to the bright light. Glancing at the clock, I pushed her hand away.

It’s not too late. She can still go home.

Sitting up, I swung my legs over the side of the bed; my body groaned in response. I stretched my arms overhead in an attempt to work some life back into my exhausted muscles.

This girl was a decent choice for a last minute decision. Memories of her contorted in a variety of wicked ways, screaming my name, made my dick harden again.

“Do you want me to get us something to eat?” she asked.

Her nails grazed down my back and I moved out of her reach. Her touch, like her voice, was more annoying than I remembered it being a few hours earlier.

That’s because you just dumped a load.

I twisted around. Her blonde hair was spread across my pillows, black makeup smeared across her face. A part of me wanted to tell her she looked like hell, but a bigger part of me didn’t care enough to point it out. I just needed her gone.

She rolled onto her back, cheap perfume wafting through the air. She pulled the sheets tight around her body.

I’m going to have to do laundry. Hell, I’ll probably just have to burn the sheets to get rid of that smell.

“I was thinking I would grab us some hamburgers. I could pick up some things for breakfast while I’m out.”

I cringed at the implications saturating her voice. “You’re going to need to tone that shit down.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Look, I have things to do tonight.” Her face was familiar but her name—not so much.

“Oh, that’s fine. I can just wait here while you do what you need to do.” She flashed me her biggest smile and settled back into the sheets, looking way too comfortable in my bed.

“No. You’re going to need to get up, get dressed, and go home.” I massaged my temples with my fingertips, a migraine inching its way into my skull.

For fuck’s sake! Why isn’t this ever as easy as they make it out to be? Maybe I should get them to sign some shit, a ‘This is a Fuck and Only a Fuck’ disclaimer or something.

“I really have no plans for tomorrow, Cane.” She licked her lips, still swollen from moments before.

“We discussed this. We fuck. You leave. You know this.”

She had the nerve to look hurt.

“I didn’t think you were going to say that once we were done.”

“It was amazing. It is always amazing with me.” I flashed her a grin and literally watched her swoon.

That never gets old.

“Look, I don’t do this ‘sex and a sandwich’ thing, but that is not a newsflash.”

“But …”

“Why does it feel like we’ve been here before?” Frustration took over and I took a deep breath, trying to keep myself calm. All I needed was a hot little body to dump my stress into for a little while and I had made no illusions otherwise. She agreed to this before she followed me home.

Why does it have to be complicated now? I ran my fingers through my short blond hair, scrubbing my scalp in annoyance.

“When I was here a few months ago, we had lunch, too. Remember? We sat out on the patio.”

Remember her face. Do not triple dip this one.

“You don’t understand how this works.” I glanced at her reclining against my pillows and fought hard to not sound as brusque as I felt. “I have a bunch of shit to do. You really need to go.”

She sighed dramatically as she got up and found her jeans on the floor. I watched her ass jiggle as she pulled them on slowly, undoubtedly for my benefit.

It worked.

I had to restrain myself from grabbing her and fucking her one more time, just for good measure.

That is only going to make getting her out of here even harder and she simply isn’t good enough to waste any more time on.

Instead, I sat and enjoyed the show. She turned to face me as she pulled her shirt over her head, her eyes never leaving mine. She tucked her bra in her purse.

With a final glance over her shoulder, presumably to give me time to change my mind, she was gone.

And I was alone again—just the way I liked it.

COVER REVEAL: "Falling For Fate" by Caisey Quinn

The second book in the Second Chance series by Caisey Quinn has a cover!

While the series is made up of standalone novels featuring different couples, it does center around a location: The Second Chance Ranch, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility owned by Trace Corbin and Gretchen Gibson from the Kylie Ryans series. Here's what Caisey had to say about the series!

Caisey: I really love writing this series because with each new novel I get a new story to build around the ranch. The overlap between characters in each book is a lot of fun for me, even though readers don't always catch them. It's almost like a hidden treasure. For instance, Fate's mom appears briefly in Van's story (Last Second Chance), but as the books are released approximately 3-4 months apart, not everyone remembers those details. It's such a treat for me knowing that they're in there!

Readers have asked if they will see Trace and Kylie in this series and they will! Trace will pop in from time to time and then towards the end of the series they'll both attend a celebratory dinner at the Ranch.

While Last Second Chance was pretty hot, with tortured soul musician Van Ransom, Falling for Fate is a bit on the sweeter side. Though y'all know me, there will still be plenty of steam! Dean and Fate have a chance encounter and then meet again unexpectedly. While they're both young professionals, having very different relationship backgrounds and experiences leaves them a bit out of their league when it comes to one another.

I am so in love with this cover because my characters meet on the beach and I asked the designer (Regina Wamba of Mae I Design) to give it an ocean water feel. She did such a wonderful job! I hope y'all like it as much as I do!
